New Blood and a Comfortable Favorite
March 12th 2008 03:56
Thought I would share with everyone some of my newest iPod additions: Enjoy
Leda Atomica: Year Long Disaster
Ray Davies son Daniel makes good: Think speed metal meets "Smoke on the Water"
If Jesus Drove a Motor Home: Jim White
A perfect confluence of religon, drugs, and despair. This track from the anti-feel good "Wrong-Eyed Jesus!"
New Soul: Yael Naim
For those of us tired of Feist but still appreciate Jangly girlie music (in small doses)
Love in a Trash Can: Raveonettes
Love the "beauty and the beast" of this Danish Duo's tunes
Hedonistic Me: Born Rufians
Jaunty and jittery bow to The Pixies
MGMT: Time to Pretend
Smarty pants college guys...Sprawling and trippy...they had me at "Oracular Spectacular"
Brett Dennen: Ain't No Reason
Opie sings folk tunes that end up on Grey's Anatomy but I won't hold it against him (yet)
Liam Finn: Second Chance
Rolling Stone describes him aptly as a "One-man band channels Elliott Smith, (who)gets kidnapped by a roughneck biker gang
So it Goes: Nick Lowe
Check out the Jesus of Cool: 30th Anniversary Edition of this track.

Hey I think that Jim White song is pretty interesting.
I like the lyrics to New Soul...
Thanks for sharing, it's nice to be able to listen to a few new tracks here and there ... but mostly I think I am getting past most of the newer stuff too....
